LS: Tell everyone about your brand and journey?

DS: I am Deborah Charice Smith, a single entity with multiple brands. My goal is to provide an outstanding experience that is dynamic and first-class. With every brand from Soigne Soiree Events & Hosting, LLC, to Smith & Smith Realty Management Partners which I own with my

husband, and my Independent Investment as a Cause Entrepreneur with ONEHOPE Wines, my expertise is that I provide an experience on a level that is both personal and timeless. In my most recent projects, "The Most" Podcast and "Us Talk" Talk show, I give you ME; in my full unapologetic model. I majored in Communications & Broadcast Journalism, and I've brought that education along with me to showcase my genuine spirit, character, who I am, and what I represent on a platform that has been my dream for over a decade. I was introduced to this unique way of living, being, and great work ethic as a young girl. Consistently surrounded by strong entrepreneurial women of color, like my grandmother for example Gloria Driver, I learned what a poised, educated, and courageous businesswoman looks like. "Unique Way" of living, meaning Entrepreneurship & Business Ownership; because everyone doesn't possess what it takes nor were they given automatic resources. She taught me foremost to tap into my spirituality and keep God at the forefront of everything I do. After God first, learn your niche and shoot for the sun. At just 18 years old she left the comforts of her small town in East Texas to move to Los Angeles, and that's where it all began. Big City living suited her well and she thrived. Her first business was a small boutique where she personally sewed all of her first inventory. From there I watched her build her business to the point where she was making thousands per item that she sold to the rich and famous. So the hustle was embedded in me from the very beginning. Today, I do what I do in the likes of her and build my legacy, for myself and my family, on those characteristics which the world will soon see as a winning recipe.

LS: Being a black woman with a voice that is fueled by a strong platform is powerful. What does that power mean to you? What are some ways you use your platform to fuel your vision?

DS: It means creating my lane, which opens up the opportunity for others to do the same. It means building, networking, connecting, encouraging, supporting, uplifting, and inspiring others. It means somebody out there gets the information or the push they need to do whatever it is they've been wanting to do, or maybe even discover it. In that, I will have contributed to their experience and success in the same way that others have done for me in the past.

LS: Where does your creativity flow? How do you avoid burning out?

DS: You know it's funny you ask that. My ultimate reason not to give up is my WHY. WHY I started my journey to begin with. My kids; and the legacy I want to leave behind for them. It's rare we leave anything behind for our children anymore. Also if I think of a situation or scenario; I remember working for corporate companies. The type of person I am, I always go above and beyond. I don't take no for an answer and I try to break all barriers and over exceed all expectations. Because of that, I/we tend to feel overworked, under-appreciated, and most importantly underpaid. With being my own brand, owning my companies, putting everything I have into my lane and baskets that I have built personally, I don't get burned out. My own everything when it comes to creative flow and determination simply comes from waking up and knowing that my life and memory will be that of what I put in. That excites me. I just go on vacation to let the edge off. Lol...

LS: What would you say are five rules to success for Entrepreneurs?

DS: 1) Knowing who you are, what you want, and what it all looks like for you in the end.

2)    Work every single day towards what you want and who you want to become.

3)    Make a plan to monetize your ideas & dreams and delegate it.

4)    Marketing, Marketing, Marketing. Walking Marketing, Email list, Social Media Visibility, and Friends & Family.

5)    Make sure you follow through and follow up.

LS: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

DS: The simple fact that other entrepreneurs and business owners feel the need to compete

with each other instead of work with each other. In the history of successful moguls, and wealthy men & women, you will see that they did not build alone. They built with other like-minded entrepreneurs and business owners. When associating yourself with others who are trying to grow and make a name for themselves and reach wealth work with others who are trying to do the same. Then and there will you see that the success and the money recycles itself and flows farther than where you went working alone.

LS: You encourage and fuel the passions of so many women, how does that make you feel?

DS: You know; It's a rewarding feeling. Until I truly knew who I was and knew my purpose for my life, I didn't realize my power when it came to encouraging and motivating others. Living in my truth and being a passionate being brings out nothing but honesty. The honesty that I possess is poured into others because I see value in people who may not always see value in themselves. So even when people value themselves life throws so many stones that the beating is too strong to continue to hold on. So I have found that just pouring my testimony, my truth, and my passion into others has truly motivated and encouraged people where I don't think I realized I would ever have done in my earlier years in life.

LS: What is the hardest part of branding your business?

DS: Well, consumers are where you make your money and grow your brand and following. I've found that the consumer is ever-changing. So for me, it's the ever-changing consumer that is the most difficult part. However, I do know that as long as I remain true to myself and provide quality service and product, I will continue to grow.

LS: Tell everyone about “The Most’ Podcast and the experience we can expect?

DS: I am elated about this Podcast. We are Deborah & Donvinnie we both represent ourselves through “The Most” Podcast where we discuss Society & Culture on a level where people feel motivated & inspired. Our purpose is just that... to motivate and inspire while touching the topics that bring to life the greatness in everyone.

LS: What is next for Deborah Smith’s journey?

DS: Well I have many projects that I am working on. To start, I am looking for properties to invest in for Smith & Smith Realty Management Partners. I want a multi-family dwelling and we're on that right now and looking into wholesaling properties. I also have "Us Talk" Talk show which I have dreamed about for many years. This came from my womb. I am the Creative Director and the other three ladies share the role of Executive Producer with me. It is being filmed twice a week and is a panel variety show presented by four female hosts who use varied real-life experiences in a topical format to relate to its audience. Encompassing Ethnic Entrepreneurial women. We are mothers, actresses, CEO's, Wives, Public Figures, Singers, Producers... So many talents amongst this group of women. It was so divine the story of how we all came together and the irony of it all. You will see us on the big screen. We're hoping Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Gina Carey, Ellen Degeneres, Mona Scott, Deborah Lee, Robert L. Johnson, Philicia Rashad, Kenneth C. Frazier, Quinn Coleman ALL see us and tap into what we have... Whoever wants what we have. They all want what we have!

LS: Are there any success quotes you’ve adapted that you now live by that you want to share to encourage others?

DS: This is easy... "Living in the moment means letting go of the past and not waiting for the future. It means living your life consciously, aware that each moment you breathe is a gift." – Oprah Winfrey ... I say this simply because the past has held so many people from their greatness. It keeps you in bondage of what is no longer there and no longer real. The strength of letting go isn't easy but when you do it's the first step to your greater self.

There's a book called 'Getting Past What You'll Never Get Over' by John F. Westfall and it gives you the help you need for dealing with life's hurts. Closure opens for an abundant life. Get that book. Also, "Whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free; your true self comes out." – Tina Turner ... This hits home for me because at one point in my life I was involved in an emotionally abusive relationship that held me back. The person did not have the same values nor goals in life as me but once again like I said earlier, I see people's potential and I pour into them. So I had found myself in a situation where I cared about this person more than myself and for years I prayed to be delivered from that situation and I was. Once I was delivered I was in true form of my greatest self and I've continuously gotten better ever since.
